Itinerary
Day 1 – Fes → Ifrane → Cedar Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert
Your 3 Days Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour begins with an early morning departure from Fes. Travel through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping first in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and peaceful surroundings.
Continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you may encounter the famous Barbary macaques before driving through Midelt and the spectacular Ziz Valley, one of Morocco’s largest palm oases.
Arrive in Merzouga during the late afternoon, where your camel caravan awaits. Ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi while watching the breathtaking Sahara sunset before reaching your luxury desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music, and an unforgettable evening beneath the stars.
Overnight: Luxury Sahara Desert Camp in Merzouga
Day 2 – Merzouga → Rissani → Erfoud → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley
Wake up early to witness a magical desert sunrise before enjoying breakfast at the camp. Return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 vehicle and continue your journey through southern Morocco.
Visit the historic town of Rissani, famous for its traditional market, before stopping in Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops. Continue to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where towering limestone cliffs create one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural attractions.
After exploring the gorge, travel along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs before arriving in the scenic Dades Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner and relax for the evening.
Overnight: Hotel or Riad in Dades Valley
Day 3 – Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas Mountains → Marrakech
After breakfast, continue through the beautiful Rose Valley toward Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkable earthen architecture and appearances in numerous international films.
Finally, cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views and several scenic photo stops before arriving in Marrakech in the early evening.
