Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen
Your 7-day Morocco tour from Tangier begins with a private pickup from your hotel, accommodation, port, or Tangier airport.
Depending on your arrival time, you can begin with some of Tangier’s highlights, including Cape Spartel, the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, and the legendary Hercules Caves.
After leaving Tangier, you’ll travel through the Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen. The drive itself offers beautiful mountain scenery and several opportunities to stop for panoramic views.
Arriving in Chefchaouen, you’ll have time to explore the famous blue-painted medina. Walk through its narrow lanes, discover colorful doors and local artisan shops, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the mountain town.
For sunset, you can walk toward the Spanish Mosque viewpoint for one of the best panoramic views over Chefchaouen.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
Start your morning with a peaceful walk through Chefchaouen before the medina becomes busier.
After breakfast, continue toward the ancient Roman site of Volubilis. This archaeological site preserves impressive Roman remains, including mosaics, columns, temples, and ancient streets. Your visit offers an interesting insight into Morocco’s history long before the rise of the country’s imperial cities.
Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four historic imperial cities. Explore landmarks around the old medina, including Bab Mansour, Place El Hedim, and the historic monuments associated with Sultan Moulay Ismail.
Later, continue toward Fes, where you’ll arrive in the afternoon or evening.

Day 3: Explore Fes with a Local Guide
Today is dedicated to discovering Fes, one of Morocco’s most important cultural and spiritual centers.
Begin with the Royal Palace area and the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter, before heading toward one of the viewpoints overlooking the ancient medina.
With your local guide, enter the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali Medina and explore its maze of narrow streets, traditional workshops, historic madrasas, and centuries-old architecture.
Highlights can include the Bou Inania Madrasa, Al Attarine Madrasa, the famous Chouara Tanneries, and the historic gates of the old city. You’ll also learn about traditional Moroccan craftsmanship, from zellige tilework and leather production to wood carving and metalwork.
The afternoon can be kept flexible, giving you time to explore independently, relax at your riad, or continue discovering the medina.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Today begins the transition from Morocco’s northern cities toward the Sahara Desert.
Leave Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, a peaceful mountain town known for its alpine-style architecture and cool climate.
Continue toward the cedar forests where, depending on conditions, you may have the opportunity to see Barbary macaques in their natural environment.
The journey then continues through the mountain landscapes toward Midelt, often known as a gateway between the Middle and High Atlas regions.
After lunch, continue toward the dramatic landscapes of the Ziz Valley, where palm-filled oases contrast with the surrounding rocky mountains.
By late afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara.
Your desert experience begins with a camel ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Stop on the dunes to watch the sunset before continuing toward your desert camp.
At the camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner followed by music around the campfire and a spectacular desert night beneath the stars.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Wake early if you’d like to experience sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes before breakfast.
After leaving Merzouga, continue toward Rissani, an important historic town in the Tafilalet region. If your visit coincides with one of the traditional market days, you can experience one of the area’s lively local souks.
Continue through the desert landscapes and small oasis villages toward Tinghir.
Your next major stop is Todra Gorge, where enormous limestone cliffs rise dramatically on both sides of the narrow valley. Take time to walk through the gorge and enjoy the striking scenery.
Later, continue into the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations, oasis landscapes, and winding mountain roads.
A stop around the famous Dades winding road and Monkey Fingers rock formations offers excellent opportunities for photography.
Overnight: Dades Valley.
Day 6: Dades – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After breakfast, continue along Morocco’s famous Road of 1,000 Kasbahs.
Travel through the Rose Valley, where traditional villages, palm groves, and kasbahs line the valley. During the flowering season, the area becomes particularly famous for its Damask roses and locally produced rose products.
Continue toward Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the Sahara and known internationally for its cinematic landscapes.
Depending on your interests and schedule, you can visit the Atlas Film Studios or explore the city and its historic kasbahs.
From Ouarzazate, continue to Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages. Walk through its narrow streets and explore its earthen architecture, built from traditional mud-brick techniques.
After the visit, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. The road climbs through spectacular mountain scenery before descending toward Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech City Tour – Departure
Your final day introduces you to the atmosphere of Marrakech.
